SHOCKINGLY, it was reported that a French 12th century cleric of the Court of Phillippe of Alsace first coined the phrase “Rome, as they say, was not built in a day” – and how true that saying is, and it remains one of the well-coined powerhouse catchphrases of today.
HIGH Court enforcement officers (HCEOs) will not have an automatic right to enforce writs issued in their names when the Taking Control of Goods Act 2013 (TCGA) is implemented.
Since the Tribunals Courts and Enforcement Act (TCEA) gained Royal Assent there have been members of the HCEOA board who have worked tirelessly with the MoJ in advising, amending and agreeing a new fee structure, agreeing amendments to flawed legislation and moving forward; those very members will be involved in finalising the training and certification for Enforcement Agents post 6 April 2014.
The ICM has launched a Level 2 Award in Taking Control of Goods that has been developed in conjunction with the High Court Enforcement Officers Association (HCEOA).
The award is fully Ofqual accredited and approved by the Ministry of Justice and Skills for Security, and the first exams will be taken in July 2014.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Master Barbara Fontaine has been appointed as the Senior Master and Queen’s Remembrancer. The post has been in existence for at least 850 years and it is the first time a woman has been appointed – indeed, she was the first woman to be appointed as a Master of the Queen’s Bench Division.
This year, the HCEOA undertook a survery of court users for their opinions on changing the High Court and County Courts Juristriction Order 1991.
