  • Appointment of Senior Master

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Master Barbara Fontaine has been appointed as the Senior Master and Queen’s Remembrancer. The post has been in existence for at least 850 years and it is the first time a woman has been appointed – indeed, she was the first woman to be appointed as a Master of the Queen’s Bench Division.

I and my fellow directors are delighted with this appointment. Master Fontaine has been a great support to the Association and has attended every annual luncheon as well as our 125th Anniversary celebratory dinner.

Unfortunately she is unable to join us this year as she has to attend the Judges Council meeting and has expressed her disappointment not to be with us on this occasion.

Master Fontaine will be a great support to the Association and we look forward to working with her.

Chairman
